Our story · since 2015
Canadian-born. Globally-inspired. The original.
Two people, one fryer, and a stubborn idea — that chicken & waffles could be the best thing you eat all week.

How it started
One fryer, one stubborn idea.
In 2015, the two of us — Raza and Maryam — opened the first Cluck Clucks on a quiet street near Toronto’s St. Lawrence Market. No test kitchen, no consultant, no deck. Just fryers, a waffle iron, and one thing that genuinely bugged us: nowhere served fresh, made-to-order halal chicken & waffles.
So we built the place we wanted to eat at. Chicken hand-breaded and fried to order — yes, that means you wait a few minutes; no, we won’t apologize for it. An open kitchen, because we’ve got nothing to hide. And instead of being one more fried-chicken counter, we went all-in on something hardly anyone in Canada was doing back then: chicken & waffles, treated like a blank canvas.
That’s where the fun lived. We riffed on flavours from everywhere — Shut the Parm Up, our Italian-leaning chicken parm on a waffle; Cluck Yallah, our Middle-Eastern take. People walked in expecting a novelty and left planning their next visit. The combo everyone once called “exotic” started to feel like what it always should’ve been: comfort food.
And one creation outran them all from the very first day — the Cluck Yeah. Boneless chicken between wedges of a cheddar-jalapeño waffle, with coleslaw, chipotle aioli, and dill mayo. It was our best seller on day one in 2015, and it’s still our best seller today. We didn’t plan that. Our guests decided it — we just had the good sense to listen.

What we stand for
Three things we never cut.
The original chicken & waffles
We didn't follow the trend — we were here before it, and we still lead it.
Hand-breaded, never frozen
Fried the moment you order. The wait is the point.
Always halal
Every location, every supplier, certified. It's how we've always cooked — quietly, not as a slogan.
Locations across CA & US
The original, since
The Cluck Yeah, from day one
Menu items, hand-breaded
From a small mom-and-pop shop in Toronto to eight locations across Canada and into the US — still founder-run, still hand-breading to order, still making the exact thing we set out to make.
